Vinaltex™ H356 is a specialised thermoplastic Polyvinyl Acetate co-polymer, designed as a low-profile additive (LPA) for low and room temperature curing unsaturated polyester composite systems, particularly in Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) processes.

• Reduce shrinkage: The low glass transition temperature (Tg) of Vinaltex™ H356 minimises shrinkage during the RTM polyester curing process, leading to class-A surfaces of finished composite parts
• Low viscosity in styrene: Vinaltex™ H356 rapidly dissolves in styrene to produce a low viscosity solution, enhancing the flow and wetting properties of the polyester resin composite system.

Tailored Solution Viscosity

The range of molecular weight polymers in the Vinaltex™ PVAc range allows formulators to tailor the viscosity for precise control over the adhesives’ flow and application properties. Lower molecular weight polymers (such as Vinaltex™ M30) results in lower viscosity solutions making them easier to apply and penetrate substrates. Rapid solubility in organic solvents

Vinaltex™ PVAc is soluble in most organic solvents, including esters, aromatics and ketones. It dissolves rapidly in acetone and methyl acetate, which are considered HAP (Hazardous Air Pollutant) free solvents in the USA, making them a practical choice for formulators.

Excellent compatibility with plasticisers and other Vinaltex™ polymers

Vinaltex™ PVAc is compatible with all common plasticisers. Additionally, formulations can include small amounts of Vinaltex™ MCT5, which acts as an excellent adhesion promoter in solvent-based adhesive formulations, particularly on metal substrates.
