Binders for superior waterproofing applications

  • Comprehensive product range for liquid applied and cementitious waterproofing systems
  • Products optimised for interior and exterior applications
  • Formaldehyde-free and APEO-free systems
  • Excellent durability.

Our wide range of carboxylated styrene butadiene rubber (XSBR), high-solid styrene butadiene rubber (HS-SBR) and acrylic dispersions, deliver excellent performance across the various technologies applied in the waterproofing industry, such as flexible concrete, bitumen and liquid applied membranes (LAM).

LAMs are increasingly important in building construction and renovation. Synthomer binders enable you to formulate ready-to-use compounds that provide seamless protection for moisture sensitive substrates, well-balanced mechanical properties, high flexibility, good crack bridging properties and low water vapour permeability.

Cementitious waterproofing systems are used to protect mineral based substrates, both  indoors and out, e.g., reservoirs, swimming pools and balconies. Our dispersions build a polymer matrix in the membrane to form a dense, elastomeric barrier to liquids after curing. The cementitious membrane maintains flexibility under permanent immersion in water and when exposed to weather.

Synthomer offers a broad range of dispersions for two pack (2K) cementitious waterproofing systems based on XSBR (LIPATONTM), styrene acrylic (REVACRYLTM) and pure acrylic (PLEXTOLTM) dispersions. These can be customised to meet your specific requirements.
