On May 22nd, Synthomer participated in the European Coatings Technology Forum (ECTF) in Berlin. With the focus topic of the forum being “Biocides - Preservation in Challenging Times”, our senior technical service manager Thomas Bernhofer hosted a two-hour workshop and discussed Revacryl UltraGreen™ 1876, a new low MFFT styrene-acrylic polymer dispersion which is suitable for biocide-free indoor paint formulations with RAL UZ 102 (“Blue Angel”) compliance. Developed as an answer to the tightening biocide and environmental regulations, Revacryl UltraGreen™ 1876 provides paint manufacturers a high-performance, yet low VOC binder for high-PH biocide-free paints and silicate formulations.
The participants - consisting of paint manufacturers, raw material suppliers and institutes - used the chance for an open dialogue with Synthomer about the regulatory trends in the market. They were introduced to the work at our dedicated microbiology lab in Harlow, UK, which provides microbial control at a particularly high standard thanks to efficacy tests and residual biocide analyses, among others.
As one of the market leaders in speciality polymers, Synthomer has been serving paint manufacturers for decades and continues to be a forward-thinking partner for the market challenges of tomorrow.
