Synthomer presents new development for high performance and low VOC styrene acrylic binders in industry magazine Farbe und Lack

London, 15.08.2018

In issue 8/2018 of the industry magazine Farbe und Lack, Synthomer unveils its new development to boost the wet scrub resistance and pigment binding capacity of wall paints based on styrene acrylics.

Led by Dr. Dieter Wolters, Thomas Bernhofer, and Jan Pilger, the Synthomer labs found that binders with 2-EHA plus silane enable the manufacture of styrene acrylics based paints that are high in hiding power and achieve an EN13300 class 1 wet scrub resistance. Thanks to a low VOC content and high pH stability, they are also an excellent choice for customers who aim for silicate paint and biocide free paint with eco label compliance.
