Synthomer publishes new hydrophobic polymer study for anti-corrosion coatings in the PeV Italy magazine

London, 24.11.2017

Anti-corrosion primers and direct-to-metal (DTM) coatings are protective coatings with a primary function to prevent corrosion. A secondary purpose is to maintain aesthetical aspects and the value of expensive goods such as cars, trucks and airplanes. Corrosion creates damage of approximately 3-4% of GDP annually resulting in a global economic impact of approximately 3.3 billion USD each year.

Synthomer as the leading speciality polymer supplier has been continuously working on developing hydrophobic polymers for water based anti-corrosion primer and DTM applications to address the pressing market need for placement of the current solvent based products. Our recent study on the prototype of our new generation hydrophobic polymers is published in the Pitture e Vernici (PeV) Italy magazine, 11/2017 in both English & Italian.
