Application Advice/Typical Applications

Applications Thermoformable finishing of fabrics and non-wovens for separators in acid batteries. Washable stiff finishes for textiles and non-wovens.Film properties Evaporation of the water above the minimum film-forming temperature leaves a clear, colourless film which is hard and brittle at room temperature. The film is soluble in organic solvents with the exception of aliphatic hydrocarbons. It shows good resistance to aqueous media, also in the acid and alkaline range. Particularly noteworthy is its good lightfastness and resistance to weathering and ageing.; Instruction for use- PLEXTOL M 630 can be diluted with water to provide spraying and impregnating liquors of any desired concentration.; - These liquors can be foamed by mixing in air. For impregnation by means of foam, we recommend the addition of Marlipal 013/109 (approx. 2 g/l) as a foaming agent and Rohagit SD 25 (approx. 10 g/l) as a foam stabiliser. For coatings on a foam base, we suggest ammonium stearate as a foaming agent.; - PLEXTOL M 630 can be thickened by means of thickener emulsions (e.g. ROHAGIT SD 15), thickener solutions (acrylate thickener solutions) and cellulose or starch derivatives to provide printing, nip-padding and coating compounds.; - By mixing PLEXTOL M 630 with other emulsions from the PLEXTOL range, the film properties of the former can be influenced within wide limits and thus adapted to the intended application.

Shipping and Storage

Store at an even temperature of between +5°C and +35°C avoiding frost and direct sunlight. Stir product before use. If stored according to these conditions and in the original unopened containers, the dispersion will be stable for 12 months following delivery. Product should be used as soon as possible after opening. During processing, storage and transport, avoid any contact with metals (including non-ferrous metals) which are not protected against corrosion. Detailed information is available on request.
