Plextol D 276 is preserved against bacterial and fungal attack. In the manufacture of finished products, the material has to be retreated, as usual, with suitable biocides to give enhanced preservation. Evaporation of the water above the minimum film-forming temperature leaves a clear, colourless and hydrophobic film, which is very soft, extremely tacky at room temperature. - By mixing PLEXTOL D 276 with other emulsions from the PLEXTOL range, the film properties of the former can be influenced within wide limits and thus adapted to the intended application. - PLEXTOL D 276 is crosslinkable due to the presence of functionalized comonomeres. - Silicone coated papers are suitable for covering the self-adherent coatings. - PLEXTOL D 276 can be used to produce self-adherent coatings on a variety of materials such as plastic sheeting, paper, textiles, sheet metal, glass, etc. - PLEXTOL D 276 can be used for the production of tapes.
