PLEXTOL M 625 is a finely dispersed aqueous dispersion of a methacrylic ester-acrylic ester copolymer. The dispersion contains an anionic emulsifier system, and is free from coalescing agents, solvents, and plasticizers.

PLEXTOL M 625 is preserved against bacterial and fungal attack. In the manufacture of finished products, the material has to be retreated, as usual, with suitable biocides to give enhanced preservation.

Above minimum film forming temperature PLEXTOL M 625 forms a clear, tack-free film. PLEXTOL M 625 is a pure acrylic dispersion characterized by especially high polymer hardness. Owing to this in paint formulation addition of coalescing agent is necessary to get proper film formation at room temperature. For application in industrial plants under forced drying conditions drying temperatures have to be adjusted accordingly. Based on PLEXTOL M 625 non-yellowing, blocking resistant coatings can be produced exhibiting excellent weatherability and scrub resistance.

Shipping and Storage

PLEXTOL M 625 is supplied in road tankers or in non-returnable plastics drums secured by a lid with clamping ring or in non-returnable palletized bulk containers (net weight 1,000 kg). PLEXTOL M 625 has to be stored protected from frost and, as far as possible, below 40 °C. Storage at temperatures between + 5 and + 30 °C is recommendable. PLEXTOL M 625 contains a preservative to counter microbial attack during transportation. To protect it against germination during subsequent storage, absolutely stringent plant hygiene and, under certain circumstances, the addition of suitable preservatives will be necessary. Care must be taken to ensure that drums and storage containers are tightly closed. During processing, storage and transport of the product contact with metals unprotected against corrosion (likewise non-ferrous metals) has to be avoided. When stored correctly PLEXTOL M 625 has a storage life of 12 months from date of delivery.
