PLEXTOL D 324 is an aqueous, high solids dispersion of an acrylic ester copolymer. The dispersion contains an anionic/nonionic emulsifier system and is free from film forming aids, solvents and plasticizers.

Technical Informations

Application Advice/Typical Applications

PLEXTOL D 324 is preserved against bacterial and fungal attack. In the manufacture of finished products, the material has to be retreated, as usual, with suitable biocides to give enhanced preservation.

Above minimum film forming temperature PLEXTOL D 324 forms a clear, tacky film. PLEXTOL D 324 is an especially soft, cement- compatible pure acrylic dispersion, which is suitable as an elasticizing additive. Employment in cement containing systems such as flexible sealing compounds or flexible, water-resistant two-component building adhesives is typical. For the addition to hydraulically setting systems it is recommendable to adjust the pH value by means of diluted sodium hydroxide solution. The dispersion must be homogenized before use.

Shipping and Storage

This product is supplied in road tankers or in non-returnable plastic drums secured by a lid with clamping ring or in non-returnable palletized bulk containers (net volume 1.000 lt). The product must be protected from frost and exposure to direct sunlight. Storage temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C are recommended. The product contains in-can preservation to protect it against microbiological attack during transportation. For protection against microbiological contamination during storage stringent plant hygiene is essential. Depending on the storage conditions addition of suitable preservatives may be necessary. Care must be taken that drums and containers are properly closed. During storage, shipping and handling contact with metal surfaces that are not corrosion protected must be avoided. When stored properly, the product has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of delivery.
