Corporate Responsibility

Synthomer is committed to approaching its business in an ethical and environmentally sound manner and has been committed to International Council of Chemical Associations’ (ICCA) Responsible Care project since the early 1990s.

Responsible Care encourages continuous improvement in safety health, and environmental (SHE) performance and transparency to stakeholders. Using the Responsible Care guidelines, Synthomer has achieved significant year on year improvements in SHE performance.

Our work in this area has been highlighted through the Group’s inclusion on the FTSE4Good Index for 10 consecutive years in 2014.

The FTSE4Good index is operated by FTSE and highlights the performance of stock market listed companies against a range of environmental, social, governance criteria. To be eligible for inclusion in the index companies must demonstrate a high level of commitment in areas such as climate change, environmental management and human rights.

Synthomer has demonstrated a proven ability to achieve and surpass a number of its long term SHE objectives in its effort to become of the industry’s most respected companies in this field. Full details of our successes can be found in our latest Corporate Social Responsibility report.
