Application Advice/Typical Applications

If however, increased foam stability is required, this can achieved by addition of a small quantity of surface active agent. Depending on the process, the desired application weight cab be adjusted, either by a change in the foam density, or by diluting the dispersion with water. PLEXTOL T 76A20 is used with fillers such as calcium carbonate, or can be used as a filler-free system. The filler content of compound should be kept as low as economically possible, in order to ensure that the finished article is capable of being recycled after its useful life. The viscosity of compounds can be adjusted to the desired level using the normal acrylate thickeners which are well known in the industry (e.g. alkalised PLEXTOL T 70S10). The dispersion, or compounds based on it, can be frothed using a foaming machine and spread using a doctor roller or blade. If wished the application of dispersion or compound may be achieved with the use of a lick-roller, either in the foamed, or unfoamed state.

PLEXTOL T 76A20 is foamable and it has a good foam stability.

Shipping and Storage

PLEXTOL T 76A20 is normally delivered in road tankers. Shipment in drums and 1 ton containers is also possible for customers which are just taking small quantities. The storage temperature of the dispersion should not fall below + 5°C and not exceed + 40°C. In air-tight, unopened, original drums or containers, and provided the storage conditions are met, the dispersion is stable for 6 months after delivery. However a slight drying of the surface, or some cream formation cannot be ruled out. It is therefore advisable that the dispersion, or compounds made from it, should stirred, or mixed before use. The contents of drums, or containers, should be used up as soon as possible after opening.
