Application Advice/Typical Applications

Plextol T 70S10 is an acrylate thickener. It is preferentially used in neutral and alkaline systems. Under acidic conditions the thickening properties can be affected. Plextol T 70S10 is an anionic polyelectrolyte and not compatible with cationic products. Plextol T 70S10 is well compatible with polymer dispersions based on styrene-butadiene-copolymers and the compounds thereof. Even small amounts of Plextol T 70S10 lead to a significant viscosity increase and improved sedimentation behaviour of fillers and solid additives. The required quantity of Plextol T 70S10 needs to be adjusted to the respectively preferred viscosity of the final system. The viscosity increase obtained by Plextol T 70S10 is characterized by being temporary stable.

Plextol T 70S10 is used as thickening agent in aqueous compounds and dispersions.

Shipping and Storage

Plextol T 70S10 is delivered in non-returnable pallet containers (net weight 1000 kg). Plextol T 70S10 must to be stored frost-protected and preferably below 35 °C. We recommend a storage temperature range between +5 and +30 °C. During processing, storage and transport any contact with metals (including non-ferrous metals) which are not protected against corrosion needs to be avoided. Plextol T 70S10 contains a preservative to counter microbial contamination during transport. To protect it against germination during subsequent storage, absolutely stringent plant hygiene is necessary. Care must be taken to ensure that the storage containers are tightly closed. When stored correctly Plextol T 70S10 has a shelf life of 6 months from the data of delivery.
